On this day in 1966, a slag heap collapsed on the village of Aberfan in Wales, killing 144 people, most of whom were schoolchildren.

A few years ago Cariad Memorials were proud to donate a memorial plaque on the 50th anniversary to remember the lives of the Scouts who sadly died during the disaster.

We shall never forget.
